What Is National Defence Academy & Naval Academy (UPSC NDA NA II)

The UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION has realise the notification 2024 for NDA and NA 404 Post. National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NDA & NA) is the joint defence service training institute of the Indian Armed Forces, where cadets of the officers rank in Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force train together as per Score or Rank. The Exam is being conduct by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) before they go on to their respective service academy for further pre-commission training. National Defence Academy provides you opportunity to serve the nation with unwavering patriotism. Cadets at the National defence Academy are instilled with a sense of duty, Honour, and Commitment to the greater good.

Slogan itself tells everything about the NDA & NA – ‘Nishkam Karma’ and in the english translation as ‘Service Before Self’.

National Defence Academy (NDA) Exam Conduct by UPSC in two times in the year. First Exam Conduct by UPSC in month of April where form is to be fill in the month of December and January. and the second Time Exam held on September, Where notification and Online Form is to be filled in May – June. Before this exam is only for Boys. who is Indian Citizen, Unmarried and 12th pass. But now Girls are also elegible and can part of National Defence Academy.

National Defence Academy & Navel Academy (UPSC NDA & NA II) Eligibility Criteria
– A Student Must be a Indian Citizen.
– He/She Must be Unmarried.
– He/She Must be 12th Pass in any stream (For Indian Army – Any Stream can Apply)
– and Age Must between 16.5 Years to 19.5 Years.

UPSC NDA & NA II Exam Pattern

National Defence Academy (NDA) NA Exam Conducted by Union Public Service Commission Mention Examination Syllabus based on only 12th Board based on Syllabus and question will be asked accordingly. and that preparation based on  NCERT Books Only.

So Student are requested to Follow NCERT books for better Preparation.

UPSC National Defence Academy & Navel Academy II 2024

Paper 1 (Code No. 01) – Mathematics 

In Code No. 1 Paper Name – Mathematics there will be 120 Questions. And having 150 Minutes to solve the Objective Questions. Where Maximum marks will be 300 Marks. Each Question Carry For Right Answer is 2.5 Marks. and in this evaluation of paper Negative marks is also there as penalty. and this is -0.83 Marks for Wrong Answer.

Paper 1 (Code No. 01) – Mathematics     120 Questions

Paper 2 (Code No. 02) – General Ability Test (600 Maximum Marks)

In Code No. 02 Paper Name General Ability Test it is divided into Two Different category. Like Part A- English(Maximum Marks – 200) and Part B- General Knowledge(Maximum Marks 400).

We have Under this Part, Six Section are categorised. i.e, Section A – Physics,  Section B – Chemistry,  Section C – General Science (Environmental Science / Biology) , Section D – History, Section E – Geography, and Section F – Current Events.

In Paper 2 – We have 150 Questions. 

Part A – In this section 50 Question alone for English Test. Each Carry 4 Marks. It means 50 x 4 = 200 Maximum Marks.

And we have General Knowledge –  The Question Paper on General Knowledge will Broadly Cover the Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, General Science, Social Studies, Geography and Current Events.

** Notes: Somehow From this year Few Questions may ask From Subject HINDI.

How to Fill UPSC NDA & NA II Exam 2024 Online Form 2024

  • Photo Instruction : The photograph of the candidate should not be more than 10 Days older and the name of the candidate and the date of taking the photograph should also be Printed on the photograph.
  • One time registration has become necessary for all the applications of Union Public Service Commission, so all the candidates will be able to apply only after One Time Registration(OTR).

Part ‘A’  – English            50 Questions x 4 = 200 Maximum Marks

The question paper in English will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding of English and workman like use of words. The syllabus covers various aspects like: Grammar and usage, vocabulary, comprehension and cohesion in extended text to test the candidate’s proficiency in English.

Part ‘B’      Section ‘A’          100 Questions x 4 =  400 Maximum Marks

General Awareness Test :-  The question paper on General Knowledge will broadly cover the subjects: Physics, Chemistry, General Science, Social Studies, Geography and Current Events.

Section ‘A’    Physics    Weighted % = 25%       i.e, 25 Questions x 4 = 100 Marks

Physical Properties and States of Matter, Mass, Weight, Volume, Density and Specific Gravity. Principle of Archimedes, Pressure Barometer.

Motion of objects, Velocity and Acceleration, Newton’s Laws of Motion, Force and Momentum, Parallelogram of Forces, Stability and Equilibrium of bodies, Gravitation, elementary ideas of work, Power and Energy. Effects of Heat, Measurement of Temperature and Heat, change of State and Latent Heat, Modes of transference of Heat. Sound waves and their properties, Simple musical instruments. Rectilinear propagation of Light, Reflection and refraction. Spherical mirrors and Lenses, Human Eye. Natural and Artificial Magnets, Properties of a Magnet, Earth as a Magnet.

Static and Current Electricity, conductors and Non- conductors, Ohm’s Law, Simple Electrical Circuits, Heating Lighting and Magnetic effects of Current, Measurement of Electrical Power, Primary and Secondary Cells. Use of X-Rays. General Principles in the working of the following:

Simple Pendulum, Simple Pulleys, Siphon, Levers, Balloon, Pumps, Hydrometer, Pressure Cooker, Thermos Flask, Gramophone, Telegraphs, Telephone, Periscope, Telescope, Microscope Miner’s Comnass Lightening Conductors, Safety

Section ‘B’    Chemistry    Weighted % = 15%       i.e, 15 Questions x 4 = 60 Marks

Physical and Chemical changes. Elements, Mixtures and Compounds, Symbols, Formulae and simple Chemical Equations, Law of Chemical Combination (excluding problems). Properties of Air and Water.

Preparation and Properties of Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen and Carbondioxide, Oxidation and Reduction. Acids, bases and salts. Carbon-different forms. Fertilizers-Natural and Artificial. Material used in the preparation of substances like Soap, Glass, Ink, Paper, Cement, Paints, Safety Matches and Gun-

Powder. Elementary ideas about the structure of Atom, Atomic Equivalent and Molecular Weights, Valency.

Section ‘C’  General Science   Weighted % = 10% i.e, 10 Questions x 4 = 40 Marks

Difference between the living and non-living. Basis of Life-Cells, Protoplasms and Tissues. Growth and Reproduction in Plants and Animals.

Elementary knowledge of Human Body and its important organs. Common Epidemics, their causes and prevention.

Food-Source of Energy for man. Constituents of food, Balanced Diet. The Solar System-Meteors and Comets, Eclipses. Achievements of Eminent Scientists.

Section ‘D’    History    Weighted % = 20%       i.e, 20 Questions x 4 = 80 Marks

A broad survey of Indian History, with emphasis on Culture and Civilisation.

Freedom Movement in India. Elementary study of Indian Constitution and Administration. Elementary knowledge of Five Year Plans of India. Panchayati Raj, Co-operatives and Community Development. Bhoodan, Sarvodaya, National Integration and Welfare State, Basic Teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.

Forces shaping the modern world; Renaissance, Exploration and Discovery; War of American Independence. French Revolution, Industrial Revolution and Russian Revolution. Impact of Science nd Technology on Society. Concept of one World, United Nations, Panchsheel, Democracy, Socialism and Communism. Role of India in the present world.

Section ‘E’    Geography    Weighted % = 20%       i.e, 20 Questions x 4 = 80 Marks
The Earth, its shape and size. L attitudes and Longitudes, Concept of time. International Date Line. Movements of Earth and their effects. Origin of Earth. Rocks and their classification: Weathering-Mechanical and Chemical, Earthquakes and Volcanoes. Ocean Currents and Tides Atmosphere and its composition: Temperature and Atmospheric Pressure, Planetary Winds, Cyclones and Anti-cyclones; Humidity; Condensation and Precipitation; Types of Climate, Major Natural regions of the World. Regional Geography of India-Climate, Natural vegetation. Mineral and Power resources, location and distribution of agricultural and Industrial activities. Important Sea ports and main sea, land and air routes of India. Main items of Imports and Exports of India.
Section ‘F’    Current Affair    Weighted % = 10%  i.e, 10 Questions x 4 = 40 Marks

Knowledge of Important events that have happened in India in the recent years. Current important world events.

Prominent personalities-both Indian and International including those connected with cultural activities and sports.
